Canton is a city located in southeastern Michigan. The charter township is located in Wayne County and is about 8 miles west of Detroit and 8 miles east of Ann Arbor. The township had a population of about 90,000 people according to the 2010 United States Census. Canton is Michigan’s second largest township. In 1834, the township was formed by an act of the Michigan Territorial Legislature.

There are many things to see and do in Canton. The township is home to a sports center, a beautiful dog park, two scenic golf courses, numerous parks and trails, and much more. The township also hosts many community events designed to be fun and engaging for all individuals. The Canton Farmers Market takes place from May to October and is an open market offering local produce, food, and handcrafted goods. Canton also hosts a Summer Concert Series that provides residents entertainment throughout the warmer months of the year.
